BAS agent services

A registered BAS agent in Melbourne, lodged on time every time

Activity statements and GST handled within regulated scope for businesses across Australia.

Reviewing BAS documents as a registered BAS agent

Is this for you?

If BAS time means guesswork and the occasional late penalty, you need an agent, and Sterix is a registered BAS agent in Melbourne. We prepare, review and lodge your activity statements, and we deal with the ATO on your behalf when questions come back.

Registration matters here. Only a registered agent can legally charge to prepare and lodge your BAS, and only clients of a registered agent get the extended lodgement dates the ATO allows. Lodging through Sterix generally gives you extra weeks on every statement.

What is included

  • BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement. Statements built from a reconciled Xero file, reviewed and lodged on time.
  • GST review and corrections. Coding checked before lodgement, and past errors corrected properly rather than buried.
  • Agent lodgement extensions. Registered agents generally get clients extra time to lodge and pay, and we pass every extension on to you.
  • ATO correspondence support. When the ATO writes or calls, we handle it with you and translate it into plain English.

Why Sterix

Registered with the TPB

Sterix is registered with the Tax Practitioners Board as a BAS agent. Your lodgements are prepared within regulated scope, with the protections that only apply when a registered agent lodges.

A qualified team

The people who prepare your BAS are qualified bookkeepers who work in Xero every day. Your file is reconciled before anything is lodged, so the statement matches the books.

The BAS is one deadline among many. Our compliance service puts every obligation on a single calendar. To talk about your next lodgement, head to our contact page.

From your records to a lodged BAS

We agree who supplies the records, who approves the statement and which due date applies. We reconcile the file, resolve missing information and send the figures for your approval before lodgement. You receive a copy of the lodged statement and the payment details.

What to have ready

  • Access to your Xero file and statements for bank, card and loan accounts.
  • Sales records, supplier invoices and receipts for the reporting period.
  • Payroll reports and details of unusual transactions or changes to the business.
  • Previous statements and any ATO correspondence about overdue periods.

Common BAS questions

Can you help if our books are behind? We review the outstanding periods first and agree the catch up work required. Lodging accurately depends on completing the underlying records.

Do we automatically get more time to lodge? No. Eligibility, the reporting period and your ATO record determine the date. Our BAS due dates guide explains what to check.

Can we keep our accountant? Yes. We handle the agreed bookkeeping and BAS work and coordinate with your accountant for income tax and matters outside our scope.
