What a reporting conversation covers
We compare the current period with the previous period and the budget, explain material changes and identify questions to investigate. Sales, wage costs and overdue invoices can move in different directions, so we look beyond the bank balance.
For example, rising sales alongside rising unpaid invoices may leave less cash available than the profit figure suggests. This is an illustrative reporting question, not a claim about a client result.
